Mr. Cervera has been a Spanish and English Teacher for twenty years for Elementary, Middle and High School students as well in universities in the most qualified private and public schools and institutions of Barranquilla, Colombia. Also, he has worked on several projects related to writing, reading, and speaking experiences of the real world. Mr Cervera joined the staff at Neuse Charter School as a Spanish Teacher since 2012. His main goal is to help students to improve their communications skills and involve parents, guardians and the community in this achievement. Mr. Cervera likes to share the most relevant aspects of the Hispanic culture in his classes. Mr.Cervera loves any kind of expression of arts. His hobbies are photography and sports.
¨In my experience as a Spanish Teacher I have learned that it is very important to incorporate diverse activities related to Hispanic customs, tradition, culture, music, food and other important aspects of real life. Learning a language is more than filling out tests and repeating sentences. Students need to live the language through real activities in context. I also think that Discipline is one of the most powerful ingredients for excellence.¨
